Compared with metal materials, thermoplastic materials have higher linear thermal expansion coefficient.
Therefore, when choosing guide materials, we need to consider environmental factors, especially the influence of
temperature on guide materials. Therefore, when choosing materials, we should first answer the following questions:
1. The application environment of chain guide is dynamic or static load?
2. Will chain guides be used in chemical, cold or hot water, steam and other pollutants?
3. Does the chain guide have direct contact with food?
4. What is the working environment temperature of chain guide?
5. How are the chains and guideways installed (screw locking or insertion)?
Computing method:
When calculating the thermal expansion, the working temperature difference during installation needs to be calculated. The linear thermal expansion coefficient of the material can accurately calculate the elongation length (when the temperature rises) and the shrinkage length (when the temperature decreases) (see the calculation equation below). Therefore, we can calculate the space size needed to install the guide rail. At the same time, we also provide different ways to fix the guide rail.
Delta L=L*alpha*Delta T
Delta L=elongation length
L = original length
Alpha = linear thermal expansion coefficient
Delta T = temperature difference
